The CMS Family Retreat Workshops were held on 6th and 13th May, 2023.

    On 6th May, our Positive Education Psychologist, Mr. Carl Chung, guided our CMS parents how we build from our self-awareness to application on different topics: Fundamentals of positive education, 4 Psychological needs of children, Evidence-based parenting techniques and Family activity on positive relationship building for students and families.

    On 13th May, we connected the families with stories. Our activity’s organization used Playback Theatre to retell the stories through free-form performance. It recalled the unforgettable moments in different families. We all needed to be heard and be understood. Touching moments were overflown with laughs and tears. Love and trust was filled in the workshop.

     We, CMS, aim to build a strong support network and to be equipped with the right strategies or occasions to navigate the ups and downs of parenting. Parenting is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. Through the workshops, we were building effective communication and strong relationships with our children. Thank you again for being a part of our workshops. We look forward to seeing all the amazing things our CMS families will accomplish in the future.

    On Thursday, May 4, 2023, 2B parent of Sarah Austin, Nalini, volunteered to be our guest cook to hold a cooking class for our parents. Nalini started the class by taking our parents to go shopping for the ingredients. Then, Nalini demonstrated how to prepare the Indian cuisine, Butter Chicken, steps by steps. 

    It was a fun and collaborative experience and we all enjoyed working together and learning from each other. Overall, the Indian cooking class for parents was a fantastic experience. Nalini was an excellent teacher.

   The cooking class is a bridge to make connection in our CMS community. No matter who we are and where we are from, with Jesus’s love, we share, we care and we love one another.

    Under the protection of God, we gave thanks to him for guarding our school since it was built. The school is making great strides in development. The Thanksgiving Mass for the 55th School Anniversary was held on 21st April (Friday) at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Central, officiated by Rev. Dominic Chan Chi-Ming, Rev. with the School Supervisor - Pierre LAM Minh, MEP., and Fr. Gabriel Altamirano Ortega, MG. concelebrated the ceremony. There were 459 teachers and students, 105 parents and 56 guests attended the event.

    On that day, a total of 8 teachers were awarded the long service commemorative medals from Rev. Dominic Chan Chi-Ming.
