CMS Home-School Academy aims to work closely with our parents to support our children’s and development with positive engagement in learning and social aspects both at home and school. In addition, it is important for parents’ personal growth which brings a good impact to the family as well.

    A positive psychologist expert, Mr Carl Chung, Director of Teengineer.HK, ran a series of workshops for training up our parents to be our future trainers to train other CMS parents. The Positive Parenting Workshops that we held in the first term and second term were successfully completed. Altogether 38 parents joined and 2 parents from the first batch attended the second cohort as our trainers.

    These workshops were designed to provide some basic knowledge about positive emotions management and parenting skills through various interactive activities which allowed parents to apply the concepts that they had learned in a simulated training environment.

    The feedback that we received from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge.

    Overall, we consider the Positive Parenting Workshops as well as the Train the Trainer Program are the seed we have planted in our CMS community. The program will have a positive impact on the quality of training within us.

    We are pleased to report that Family Fun Day that we held on 18th March, 2023 was a great success. The event was attended by 90 families, parents with their children, and our teachers, altogether 239 people, who all had a great time participating in the various activities that we had organized.

    The event was designed to provide families with an opportunity to bond and have fun together in a safe and exciting environment. Activities including, fishing, archery and fire lit up skills, painting on wooden piece, ball games etc.

    In addition to the activities, we had BBQ area where the families could relax and refuel between activities. The feedback that we received positive feedback from our parents who expressed their appreciation for the well-organized event.

    We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.

    Performance of the Presentation Day provided a platform for students to integrate various learning experiences and skills to share with others what they have learnt at school. It is also a chance to challenge and expand on their understanding through our theme Harry Potter which we delivered our CMS core values and positive attitudes towards our mission and vision. There were English drama team, Chinese drama team, singing team, dancing team, stage managers, MCs, narrators as well as students who were responsible to promote our CMS values.

    CMS Smarties showcased their talents and learning achievements on a successful Presentation Day held on 25th February, 2023. The event was a great opportunity for students to demonstrate their public speaking skills with confidence, as well as promoting positive values and team spirit through the theme of Harry Potter, which is discovering our won talents for becoming a better me. It is the essential foundation for making the world a better place.

    P1 to P4 students were arranged to present their work in different subjects to their peers, parents, and teachers in class. In the meanwhile, our P.5 & P.6 students delivered a splendid performance in the hall. Both performances were highly appreciated by all levels of students and parents. We believe that every CMS student has his or her own talent. He or She is able to perform well with good effort.

    In addition, the strong support and participation of our parents who made the event even more meaningful. Parents involvement in their children’s school work has a positive effect on children’s learning progress and achievements. This event was a significant milestone in the middle of the school year, and the school looks forward to hosting another successful Presentation Day next year.

    Overall, the Presentation Day was a great success, and the school congratulates all students and teachers who made this happen.
